- Impermanence -

This place gives me the feeling of a "planet"

composed of endless years.

 

I used to have an image of rocks as

being very hard and solid.

But now I realize that they crumble

when subjected to a certain amount of

impact or load.

 

The flow of water is flexible enough to change

its shape in any way it wants.

But at the same time,

it is also a very hard aggregate

that flows through the earth,

shaving through the rocks.

 

In such an environment,

I am aware of our fragility.

Likewise, I can also understand

that the earth is not an absolute entity.

 

By placing a stone that is exquisitely balanced

in the flow of water,

I show that it is a temporary event or state

that will not last forever.

 In other words,

my work represents impermanence.

この地は果てしない年月をかけて形成された

「惑星」を感じさせてくれます。

 

岩には非常に硬く強固なイメージを持っていましたが、

今ではそれも相応の衝撃や負荷がかかれば

崩れゆくものであることを実感しています。

 

水の流れは如何様にも姿を変える

柔軟さを持っていますが、

同時に非常に硬い集合体として

岩を削りながらこの地を流れていきます。

 

この環境では人間のやわさを認識し、

同じように惑星も決して絶対的な存在ではないのだと

理解することができます。

 

水の流れの中に

微細なバランスで静止している石を置くことで、

それが永遠には続かない

ひと時の出来事や状態であることを示しています。

つまり、

「無常」を私の作品は表しています。
