- Impermanence

This place gives me the feeling of a "planet" composed of interminable years.

 

I used to have an image of rocks as being very hard and solid. But now I realize that they crumble when subjected to a certain amount of impact or load.

 

The flow of water is flexible enough to change its shape in any way it wants. But at the same time, it is also a very hard aggregate that flows through the earth,

shaving through the rocks.

 

In such an environment,  I am aware of our fragility.

Likewise, I can also understand that the earth is not an absolute entity.

By placing a stone that is exquisitely balanced in the

flow of water, I show that it is a temporary event or

state that will not last forever. In other words,

my work represents impermanence.

この地は果てしない年月をかけて形成された「惑星」を感じさ

せてくれます。

 

岩には非常に硬く強固なイメージを持っていましたが、今では

それも相応の衝撃や負荷がかかれば崩れゆくものであることを

実感しています。

 

水の流れは如何様にも姿を変える柔軟さを持っていますが、同

時に非常に硬い集合体として岩を削りながらこの地を流れてい

きます。

 

この環境では人間のやわさを認識し、同じように惑星も決して

絶対的な存在ではないのだと理解することができます。

水の流れの中に微細なバランスで静止している石を置くことで、

それが永遠には続かないひと時の出来事や状態であることを示

しています。つまり、「無常」を私の作品は表しています。
